BACKGROUND
An Australian bank sought alternative methods to grow its Business Analyst Practice due to escalating costs in the market. In collaboration with Leaders IT, they undertook a Capacity Uplift Solutions Program (CUSP). The CUSP initiative aimed to
bolster capacity and capability skills within the Business Analyst practice, by deploying consultants and developing their skills over 12 months with a view to transitioning to permanent employment at the end of the program.
APPROACH
Leaders IT produced a shortlist from which the banking hiring manager chose four Business Analyst consultants. Leaders IT then employed and contracted the consultants to the bank under their professional services panel. Detailed training and one-on-one mentoring sessions were conducted with the consultants. Regular feedback was sought by Leaders IT from the hiring managers, who tailored coaching sessions to address any concerns. The consultants attended 10 workshops over the 12 months developing their professional skills, completed IIBA certifications, provided business documentation and supporting roadmaps
alongside the bank’s Senior Business Analysts.
IMPACT
At the program's conclusion, three out of four junior Business Analysts transitioned to permanent roles, demonstrating exceptional growth and proficiency in enhancing business practices, stakeholder collaboration, and analytical skills. This success highlighted the effectiveness of CUSP and the dedication of Leaders IT consultants, contributing to the bank’s workforce stability and cost reduction.
