We are looking for Lead Cyber Security Specialists and Lead Cyber Security Policy Officers for our Federal Government Client to work in Canberra, ACT. These roles work in the same division, and both require the ability to work on site from the Client’s Canberra office for the first two (2) months, followed by a more flexible weekly hybrid work arrangement after.
 
Job Title: Lead Cyber Security Specialist (265364)
Duration:  12   months  two (2) possible 12-month extensions
Location:   ACT hybrid
Security Clearance: Baseline ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance


The requirements of the role will include, but not be limited to:
  • Creating and delivering cyber security awareness training & briefings.
  • Assisting the team with a range of Cyber Outreach activities.
 
The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) has been used to inform the requirements. In summary, DFAT seeks a candidate/s with the skillset: Learning delivery (ETDL) - Level 4
 
Essential criteria
  1. Create new and review existing Cyber Security training packages.
  2. Deliver cyber awareness training & briefings.
  3. Conduct or participate in meetings as required.
  4. Make informed decisions and communicate with influence.
  5. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
 
Desirable criteria
  1. Experience with Cyber Outreach activities (campaigns, events, briefings).
  2. Experience writing policies in Australian Government.
  3. Experience with writing briefs to senior executives.
  4. Experience with responding to complex policy questions.
 
Job Title: Lead Cyber Security Policy Officer (265363)
Duration:  12   months  two (2) possible 12-month extensions
Location:   ACT hybrid
Security Clearance: Baseline ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance
 
The requirements of the role will include, but not be limited to:
  • Writing and creating ICT related policies.
  • Completing cyber governance tasking requests.
  • Assisting the team to deliver cyber training sessions.
  • Undertake a range of cyber outreach activities.
 
The Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) has been used to inform the requirements. In summary, DFAT seeks a candidate with multiple skillsets as follows:
 
Knowledge management (KNOW) - Level 6
Governance (GOVN) - Level 6
 
Essential criteria
  1. Create new and review existing ICT Cyber Policies using sound judgement.
  2. Respond to Governance tasking (such as senate estimate briefing updates, questions on notice).
  3. Conduct or participate in meetings as required.
  4. Make informed policy & governance decisions and communicate with influence.
  5. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
 
Desirable criteria
  1. Experience delivering Cyber Training sessions.
  2. Experience writing policies in Australian Government.
  3. Experience with writing briefs to senior executives.
  4. Experience with responding to complex policy questions.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens capable of acquiring AGSVA Federal Government clearances.
